 The
project of folklore musician
'Alfonso Lyaé'
of
UNEAC from Havana, invites you to participate in the IX Workshop
of Rumba & Conga Charanguere in Bejucal, because of the
traditional parties, where Rumba & Conga will be interpreted
& danced with the abilities of the musicians & craftsmen
from Bejucal.
The
objective of the workshop is the
interpretation of the traditional and contemporary Rumba, based
on the military brass band's history of Bejucal town.
The
tradition kept for 54 years at the celebration of every January
1st at “Alfonso’s House”, located in Bejucal,
Havana and complementation of rumba with the sounds of Bejucal’s
conga that since 1840 has been interpreted by different
generations, that goes beyond the presence of slaves at the
streets of Bejucal to the fusion of these rhythms with the
contemporaneous sounds of present decade.
The
Alfonso’s House opens its doors to give you
the Cuban Aché, in the
'Alfonso Lyaé' workshop. You can
enjoy the
flavour of a variety of Afrocuban rhythms , such as: The Rumba,
the Conga, the
Mozambique and the Salsa. You will also be delighted,
with the chiming of the drums and congas of the Charanga’s
City.
The
Delegates can participate in the Rumba and Conga concert “Ocha
Religion party”, the Congas
Festival , dance and percussion classes, and Salsa music Band at the
House of Music “Havana”.
These
activities, among other options will be at your disposition.
